Bald Hills Wind Farm Community Fund – Grant Applications Open

The Bald Hills Community Fund provides funding for projects of social, economic or environmental benefit to the Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay and Walkerville districts.  Bald Hills Wind Farm will provide $25,000 per year for each year the wind farm is in operation to the Community Fund.  Any funds not utilised are carried over to the next year.  This year, the Community Fund has $28,480 available for grants to community organisations. Funds will be allocated in two categories: Small Projects: Grants of up to $2000 per project. 80% of the annual funding will be allocated to this section. Bald Hills Wind Farm Bat and Avifauna Management Plan

Bald Hills Wind Farm Pty Ltd engaged Brett Lane & Associates Pty Ltd (BL&A) to carry out the operational phase bat, avifauna and mortality monitoring surveys outlined in the Bat and Avifauna Management Plan (BAM Plan) for the Bald Hills Wind Farm to record, assess and report on the impact of the wind farm operation on birds and bats. BL&A have prepared a detailed report covering the first year of operation and this report is currently being reviewed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and the Minister for Planning.
