Bald Hills Wind Farm comprises 52 turbines of 2.05MW capacity each, giving it a total capacity of 106.6MW. It produces up to 380,000MWh of electricity per year.
This is the equivalent of meeting the electricity requirements of over 62,000 homes—over four and a half times the homes in the South Gippsland Shire (based on 2006 census data).
As a long term average:
- The wind farm avoids up to to 335,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions per annum.
- This amount of electricity is the equivalent of taking over 77,000 cars off the road each year.
- It also represents planting over half a million trees each year.
