The Bald Hills Wind Farm Community Fund will provide one $25,000 grant for 2020 (rather than a number of small grants) to a project in the Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay and Walkerville district that provides the greatest opportunity for more people to have access to or benefit from social, recreational, educational and/or environmental services and events.

The Expression of Interest will be no longer than 2 pages and will include the following:

  • Project summary
  • Partnerships
  • Project goals
  • Estimated project cost
  • Expected outcomes and community benefit

Applicants will be invited to meet with the Bald Hills Wind Farm Community Fund Committee to discuss their Expression of Interest further. This meeting will occur after hours on 12-13 February 2020. Applicants are asked to reserve those two evenings to ensure their availability.

Expressions of Interest will be assessed by the Committee. Applicants whose projects are deemed to meet the criteria of the $25,000 grant will be invited to complete a full and comprehensive application form, with a closing date of 15 May 2020.


  • The BHWF grant of $25,000 could represent the total project cost or a portion of the total project cost.
  • The project will demonstrate collaboration with local partners and clearly define the roles of all parties.
  • The grant may be used as leverage funding to secure additional philanthropic, local, state or federal government funding.
  • Partners should demonstrate their commitment to the project, in writing, at the time that the Application Form is submitted.
  • Funding partners will endeavour to provide funding within 6 months of the Bald Hills Wind Farm funding commitment to the project.
  • Funds will not be released until other funding sources are confirmed and all necessary approvals for land use or facility upgrades are in place (where relevant).
  • The Committee has the right to vary the arrangement for funding to optimise the project outcomes.
  • The project should be consistent with relevant strategic plans or guidelines (e.g. the relevant sporting facility guidelines, South Gippsland Shire Council’s Annual Plan, Community Plan etc.)
